Our Introduction to Open Water Swimming Courses are very popular and we enjoy them as much as our customers. Here’s some customer testimonials for 2013’s courses.
‘Hi guys, I would just like to thank you for the Open Water Training course I attended on the 12th May 2013.
After feeling quite competent in the swimming pool I thought it was time to step it up and take the plunge (literally). All the nerves, feeling anxious and sickly feeling were soon allayed when I set foot through the door of the ‘Head to the Hills’ shop at 9am on that cold Sunday morning. The warm and friendly welcome as soon as I entered the shop started to calm the waters (pardon the pun). The professionalism of yourselves (Pete, Andy & Claire) was superb and you soon had a ‘relaxed’ atmosphere throughout the group of 12 of us.
I was surprised at how different open water swimming is to pool swimming but with the guidance and coaching from you we all soon got going. The tips and techniques provided in a totally safe environment offer the perfect introduction to anyone who wants to have a go at this exhilarating sport/hobby. I can’t recommend ‘Head to the Hills’ enough for anyone who wants to try something new.
Hi Pete and the Head to the Hills team,
Thank you so much for a lovely day on Saturday at the Introduction to Open Water Swimming course.
You made it a fun, professional and very supportive session so again, many thanks. Roz & Nic
Just a quick message to thank you for the introduction to open water swimming course on Saturday. I had a great time and can’t wait to get out in the water again. All the best, Rachael
I attended the ‘Introduction to Open Water Swimming’ in May 2013. This was in preparation for me doing the Ironman UK 70.3 triathlon. Having never done open water swimming your training was invaluable for the open water swims I did following the training and ultimately got me through the first leg of the Ironman. I am pleased to say your coaching significantly contributed to me completing the triathlon in 6hrs 38mins. There is no immediate worry for the Brownlee brothers and the Tim Don’s of the world but hey it’s a start.
Many Regards and all the best for your future business.
You may remember me from the intro to open water swimming session couple of weeks ago… The French guy, registered by his wife because they were supposed to go swim a 10K couple of weeks later?
Well – I have to say, your intro course does miracles, because here is a shot of me at the arrival point! I really owe you a lot in teaching me the basics and most importantly helping to manage the irrational.
The good news: I think I’m hooked. I’ll definitely be back up North for some more open-water swimming.
Swimming pools are definitely overrated.
Thank you again, and see you soon!, Cédric
Another lovely swim and some great tips. Many thanks. And tell your man in the canoe to take it easy….what a legend. Nick
Had a great time this morning at my first open water swim experience! Even though that was the coldest I have ever been in my life! Just my hands, feet and face though, the wetsuits were brilliant. Will definitely be back again. (Ed: it was april brrr!)
Had the most amazing intro to open water swimming last Saturday. Staff where so friendly and encouraging and helped relight the flame of open water swimming for me. Was quite a shame to get in the pool on Monday. What next? Not sure but there will be a next, just thinking about which way I should go …. Nickey
