Our shop in Ambleside is temporarily closed.
Update on Current Situation 12/05/20
Following government advice we aim to re-open our open water swimming shop in Ambleside from the 1st June, with safety precautions in place. Before then we hope to offer a ‘by appointment service’ for customers in the area who need swim gear (wetsuits, neoprene and other accessories).
We continue to be open online and over the phone.
We are not suggesting people travel to the Lake District from outside the area to exercise, the Cumbria Police message is clear, please do not travel to the Lake District now. We need to protect our community and our limited healthcare resources. A rise in infection rate here would be a disaster for many and would indeed delay further the opening of all Lake District businesses and attractions including ours.
We hope to begin swim guiding in July, with precautions and practices in-line with government guidelines. We may be able to swim guide for household groups in June, we’ll keep you updated.
The Lake District will be open again soon, but let’s make that sooner rather than later by keeping our distance and staying local.
Courses and Guided Swims
We have emailed customers booked on events or swims in April informing them of the postponement.
We are now looking into the postponement of May and June 2020 swims and will email everyone involved in due course. Please bear with us at this time.
Many thanks for your support and help
Is it safe to order online?
It is very unlikely that the COVID-19 virus can be spread through packaged items. The World Health Organisation has stipulated the following:
‘The likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, travelled, and exposed to different conditions and temperature is also low.’
