A new group has been formed bringing together the businesses and supporters of Ambleside to promote the town, its attractions and events.
Ambleside Together has been created by a group of local business people as a response to the winter storms and the impact on tourism and visitor numbers. The first challenge for the group has been to spread the word that Ambleside is open and, like in the rest of the Lake District, businesses are ready to help visitors make the most of their holiday.
Chairman Andrew Hewitt said “we saw this as a good opportunity to come together as a community and jointly promote all that’s great about Ambleside, while at the same time looking at new opportunities and new events that will, perhaps, bring new visitors here as well.”
The group will soon have a website and has set up social media pages for a new campaign Love Ambleside. Visit Love Ambleside on Facebook and Twitter @LoveAmbleside.
The group is also behind The first Festival of the Fells to be staged in, around and above Ambleside.
Look out for Love Ambleside flags around the village, on your next visit, showing support for the campaign.
