The Great Lake District Swim Challenge 2017 – Swim ALL the Lake District in the ultimate open water challenge
The Lake District is England’s largest national park and a world-class swimming destination, now in its third year, the Great Lake District Swim Challenge is to swim all the swim-able Lakes in the Lake District.
The challenge is split into 2 trips:
- The Great Lake District Swim Challenge West covers the western Lakes and 7 Lakes or meres in 2 days
- The Great Lake District Swim Challenge East covers the eastern Lakes and 8 Lakes in 2 days.
Each is a non-stop action packed trip where swimmers will cross a width, or two of each of the swim-able lakes before moving onto the next lake by chartered mini-bus.

This is a fully organised challenge which includes accommodation, most meals and full safety cover. The dates for 2017 are 13-15th August (Western Lakes), 23 – 25th July or 18 – 20th Aug (Eastern Lakes)
