The Lakes Escape holiday apartment is set over two floors of a traditional Lakeland cottage, it’s comfortable, clean, and restful, with great views, and dedicated parking. The self-contained space and cosy log burner are just the welcome you need after a day of adventures.

Self-Contained Holiday Apartment

Step inside the entrance hall and venture upstairs, to the first floor, to find the restful lounge with westerly views towards Rothay Park and Loughrigg Fell plus a wood-burner for those cosy winter evenings. Next door there’s a separate pleasant dining room for meals and, of course, for planning your holiday adventures.

Next comes the kitchen with everything you should need for preparing holiday breakfasts, picnics, and lazy evening meals.

Up the staircase takes you to the second floor and the two charming bedrooms, the double bedroom has great views of Loughrigg Fell and the front twin bedroom has views east towards Wansfell.
There’s also the modern shower room with a sink and shower cubicle.
The toilet is on the 1st floor.

There’s one dedicated parking space for guest use during your stay around the rear of the building.


The Lakes Escape Holiday Apartment Situation.

The Lakes Escape sits above Swim the Lakes, our outdoor swimming shop which is open day-times (usually between the hours of 9.30 am – 5pm).
Swim the Lakes are pioneers in outdoor swimming adventures around the Lake District. We provide fabulous guided swims from morning dips to 2 – 3 day breaks, plus all the open water swimming gear and specialist wetsuit fitting.

Other things to note about The Lakes Escape.

We will try to make your stay as comfortable and welcoming as we can.

Please note the following:
  • Changeover is usually Friday or Monday and during school holidays inc. July & August it’s a Friday changeover with 7 nights only bookings.
  • Max 4-person occupancy
  • We welcome children 10+. I’m sorry we do not provide a cot, highchair or child safety gates.
  • We are unable to accommodate any pets.
  • There are stairs within the apartment at The Lakes Escape.
  • The premises are strictly non-smoking throughout including the outside areas.
  • Ambleside and The Lakes Escape make an excellent choice for your holiday.
