Established in 2005, Swim the Lakes pioneered open water swimming as an experience in the Lake District and where better? The Lake District national park, now a world Heritage site, is a stunning area of the UK and one of the best places in the world for swimming outdoors. With Swim the Lakes you are in safe hands, we are professionals with many years experience in group management and safety on water, on land and in the hills. We swim for the love of it, we do it safely and we leave only ripples and warm smiles behind. We want to share our secret swimming spots with you - they are too good to keep to ourselves. My top tip for this week is a lovely area of the South Lakes to swim as it has multiple swimming options, and a good café and pubs nearby too if the weather gets really miserable and you need to put your escape route option into play. I have also seen the otters and the lovely goldeneye ducks fishing and playing around here over the past two weeks which is always a lovely sight.
