Hire a Swim Wetsuit
If you are in the Lakes for a day-out, an event or you want to try a wetsuit out you can hire one of our wetsuits.
£35 for 24hrs
NB: We’ll also reimburse you 50% of the hire cost if you buy a wetsuit on the day of return.
For individual daily hire you will need…
Upon booking the hire:
- your height, weight and UK ladies dress size or men’s chest size for sizing purposes.
- hire payment of £35 per 24hrs
- ring us on 015394 33826 or pop into the shop book your hire
Upon collection of wetsuit:
- Name, address, payment card details for security
- Proof of name and address (utilities bill, drivers license etc)
- Deposit per wetsuit £100 (refunded upon safe return).
- Your signature.
All individual wetsuit hires are for collection and return at our shop in Ambleside. Wetsuits should be returned rinsed in clear water and preferably dry. Please turn them the right way round when you return them – thank you.
Wetsuit Hire Terms & Charges
Please look after the suit in your care; if you follow our guidelines on how to use your wetsuit damage is very unlikely to occur.
We really don’t want to charge you any more than is necessary (we try to keep our hire charges as fair a possible) but to cover our repair costs damage to wetsuits will be charged at £20 per small hole (up to 1 cm) and £40 per larger hole or tear.
Hire wetsuits that are not returned by the agreed time will be charged at full new retail price.

Just wanted to thank you for the amazing kit we hired last Friday.
I really didn’t think I could be so comfortable whilst in a lake in March! Certainly a very special experience being in the water and looking up to the snow on the hills. I can’t believe our luck with the weather.Pete’s tutorial on how to put on a wetsuit was faultless – made that whole palaver surprisingly easy.
We will be back I’m sure, and am saving up for my own suit.
