SAVE THE CHILDREN

Save the Children

Save the Children believes every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, Save the Children give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. They do whatever it takes for children – every day and in times of crisis.

In January 2017 Swim the Lakes Director Andrea Kelly, organised the first ‘Swim for Children in War’ 10K challenge in aid of Save the Children, the challenge is to swim a 10k swimming marathon, indoors or outdoors, to be completed in a month.

Millions of children are caught up in war zones and they desperately need our help, this is one way we can help make a difference, children urgently need food, water, warmth and medicine just to survive, many are alone and all are in urgent need, the virtual event is perfect as it keeps costs low so more of the funds raised can go direct to charity’. Andrea

The first event in January 2017 raised £2030. Find out more in our here swim for children war article.
