FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

How fit do I need to be for this Wild Swim?

For this adventure you should be able to swim a mile in open water without any worries and be comfortable in open water. Its not a race but you should have a good level of fitness. Confidence in the water is essential as the swimming is very exposed to the weather and it can get quite lively in the water at times. There’s a short walk through some woods to get to the start of our swim.

We aim to satisfy the swimming aspirations of all of our guests without any compromise in your safety.

Can I hire a wetsuit?
Yes, wetsuit hire should be arranged in advance, either via this link or by ringing us. Wetsuit hire here

What will the weather be like?

It could be sunny and still, it could be windy and raining, but we do know you are going to have a great time. Please check the weather forecast before you travel and bring suitable clothing and footwear.

How cold will the water be and do I need a wetsuit?

The lakes vary in temperature between 15-18 degrees for this time of year depending on the local weather conditions. We swim in wetsuits for warmth and buoyancy. We have swimming wetsuits to hire for a small fee.
If you want to swim without a wetsuit and are conditioned to swimming in cool water, please email us summarising your experience of temperatures and length of time in water – thanks.
