What We Do

Based in the heart of the Lake District National Park, we use open water swimming and wild swimming to explore and enjoy this amazing Lakeland landscape, we create journeys that weave through the environment and its features.
Along the way, you’ll be under the watchful eye of experienced open water swimmers, lifeguards and a mountain leader who have been swimming the rivers, lakes and tarns of the Lake District for many years.

Swims are rated with differing swimming abilities and fitness level. So there’s something for all swimmers.

Come with us on a day’s adventure swim, where we combine some walking and swimming to take us on a journey through this amazing landscape.  Each adventure swim day differs in the ratio of swimming and walking.

How about Easing into Easedale, a classic walk rewarded by a beautiful tarn swim and feeling like a kid again jumping into crystal clear pools of water? Or perhaps a bit of Island Hoping Lake District style?

Extended swimming adventures over a perfect weekend or mid-week break. Dive-in, fully immerse yourself with like minded souls. These trips are where you’ll meet swimming buddies for life. Fun, adventure and amazing experiences are paramount.
Explore classic lakes in the Windermere Wild Swim Adventure and the Utterly Buttermere Swim Adventure, or challenge yourself to swim across all the Lakes in the Great Lake District Swim Challenges.

Short Wild Swims are great mini-adventures. Why not try a wild swim through the tranquil Lake District Vale revered by famous Lakeland poets? Or perhaps you fancy swimming down a river without a paddle, exploring a secret river venue which is home to the kingfisher, otter and perch?
Short Wild Swims are perfect for beginners and intermediate outdoor swimmers.

We run a very popular Introduction to Open Water Swimming Course throughout most of the Spring and summer from April to September, please book early to avoid disappointment,

Push your swimming season into the winter or even through the ice with our Cold Water Swimming Workshop.

We offer bespoke guided swims to any of our extensive swimming locations here in the English Lake District for a tailored dip or an escorted length of Lake swim.

We specialise in fitting swimming wetsuits ensuring you get the perfect fit and great performance from your suit.

Fittings are available in our Ambleside store and at our wetsuit try-on events where you can try wetsuits in the Lake before you buy.
You can, of-course, buy a swim wetsuit online, we are more than happy to help with sizing information.

You can also hire a wetsuit from us if you fancy a dip or have an event.
